Diagnostic Imaging Services

At Normah Medical Specialist Centre, we understand that accurate and timely diagnosis is crucial to effective treatment. That is why our Diagnostic Imaging Services are designed to provide you with the advanced diagnostic imaging technology available. Our team of experienced radiologists, radiographers, radiology staffs work together to provide you with high quality imaging services that are essential in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
X-Ray or General Radiography
Our X-Ray or General Radiography services utilise advanced imaging techniques to produce high quality images of the internal structures of the body. This non-invasive procedure is commonly used to diagnose and assess a wide range of medical conditions, including bone, soft tissues, and other internal structures. The most familiar use of x-ray is to rule out fractures (broken bone) and lung disease. With our state-of-the-art equipment and commitment to excellence, you can trust us to provide you with the highest standard of care.
Fluoroscopy
Our fluoroscopy services capture real-time moving images of internal organs utilising advanced imaging technology. This non-invasive procedure is commonly used to evaluate endoluminal structures such as the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary tract, fistulae, ducts, and joints. Our state-of-the-art fluoroscopy machine is designed to produce high quality images while minimising exposure to radiation. Whether you need a barium X-Ray to visualise the movement of your intestines or an arthrography to visualise your joints, you can trust us to provide you with the highest standard of care.
Some common fluoroscopic procedures include:
Evaluation of endoluminal structures (e.g., gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary tract, fistulae, ducts).
i)Barium X-rays (barium swallow/enema) visualization of intestines movement
ii) Arthrography (visualization of joints)
iii) Hysterosalpingogram
iv) Injecting urethrogram
256-slices Multi Detector Computerised Tomography (CT)
Our advanced 256-slices Multi Detector Computerised Tomography (CT) scan utilises the latest X-Ray and computer technology to provide a detailed image of internal body organs. This cutting-edge modality produces high quality 2D/3D cross-sectional images from multiple angles around the body, making it an essential tool for accurate diagnosis. Our experienced team of specialists can perform a wide range of services using our CT scan machine, which is not limited to coronary angiography (diagnosis of coronary heart diseases), cerebral angiography, CT brain, CT pulmonary, and CT urinary tract.
Ultrasonography
Our department offers ultrasound scans using the latest technology to produce high quality images of internal body structures. Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging method that uses frequency sound waves to produce images for diagnosis, guilding treatment, and biopsy cases. Our experienced team of specialists offers a wide range of ultrasound scans, including abdominal and pelvic scans, obstetric scans for pregnancy, breast and neck scan, various colour Doppler studies of vessels and arteries, and many more.
Digital Mammography
At our department, we offer digital mammography performed by our experienced female radiographers, also known as mammographers. Digital mammography allows for the imaging of the breast tissues and can detect lesions deep in the breast tissue, that are otherwise nonpalpable. It is highly effective in detecting both benign and cancerous lesions, and it is especially useful for the early detection of breast cancer. This technology enables localisation for biopsy and can also be used as a screening tool.
Bone Mineral Densitometry
Bone Mineral Densitometry, also known as DEXA scan, is a quick and painless low-dose X-Ray procedure that accurately measures the calcium and other minerals present in the bone. It is an essential tool for diagnosing and monitoring osteoporosis, especially in patients who are aging or have undergone chemotherapy. Our department offers bone density scans for three regions of the body, including the lumbar spine, hip joint, and wrist joint, which are crucial in assessing the overall bone health of the patient. The scan takes only 10 to 15 minutes, with the patient lying flat on the machine couch, and the results are generated immediately, providing valuable insights into the patient's bone density and the risk of developing osteoporosis.
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)
ESWL is a non-invasive and painless procedure that uses shock waves to break down kidney stones. Our advanced lithotripter machine generates shock waves by aiming at the stone and break it into smaller pieces. This procedure is suitable for patients with smaller urinary tract stones and offers a safe alternative to surgery. Our experienced urologists use x-ray or ultrasound to locate the stone and adjust the power and interval of shock waves for optimal results. The duration of the procedure depends on the size and number of stones. The patient can resume normal activities after the procedure.
Orthopantomogram (OPG)
OPG is a specialized dental X-Ray that captures an image of the entire mouth in one shot. It is a painless and non-invasive procedure that can help detect various dental problems such as impacted teeth, jaw tumors, and other abnormalities. The scan takes only a few minutes, and dentist can use the result to plan for dental treatment.
Intraoral X-Rays
This is a type of dental X-Ray taken inside the mouth to show detailed images of the teeth and surrounding structures. These X-Rays can help detect tooth decay, gum disease, infections, and other oral health problems. The procedure is quick and painless, and involves placing a small sensor or film inside the mouth to capture the images. Intraoral X-Rays are an essential tool for diagnosing and treating dental issues, and can help ensure the overall health of your mouth and teeth.
At Normah Medical Specialist Centre, our Diagnostic Imaging Service team is dedicated to provide you with the highest standard of care using the latest technology and techniques available. Our commitment to excellence ensures accurate diagnoses and optimal treatment outcome.
