COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
NMSC NURSES PARTICIPATE IN (SCCS)
FUND RAISING EVENT

NMSC College Of Nursing Charity Food Sales In Conjunction With The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) Fund Raising Event

It is not just all studies and classrooms for the student nurses at Normah. Recently, the student nurses reached out to the community when they participated in the Charity Food Sales and Fund Raising Event at the Civic Centre, organized by the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) on 15th August,2004.

Despite the seemingly difficult challenges, perceived initially, with the support of the Management and staff of Normah, the project was successfully staged and carried through, much to the relief and satisfaction of everyone involved. The generous spirit of Sarawakians was again demonstrated by the overwhelming response to the sales.

What’s another secret to our success? Like a saying goes “ the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. “ Fusion of east and west delicacies were the delight of the day. Lok-lok, nasi lemak, guava and steamed sweet corn were great crowd stoppers.

We were also honoured by the presence of Datuk Amar Puan Sri Dr Hajjah Laila Taib, who also handed to us a certificate of appreciation for our contribution. In fact, with the team spirit we enjoyed during the process, it felt quite effortless. We appreciated very much the guidance and input from our ADON Catherine Pero, Ms Juria Gohit and Ms Malessa Joseph from Nursing Education, who stood by us from the beginning till the end.

Indeed, it was a very rewarding weekend, knowing that we have touched the lives of some needy children in some ways.
